Hello,

IM looking at attempting to make a patch for a mod currently mad for JO. the mod is TIC and I want to add a few more assets, player skins, and a laser tripped C4 explosive is possible. and advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok first you will need some tools
PFF Editor
JO Mod Tools
Photoshop or such

You will need to know which charactor you want to reskin, select the item in the map editor and on the left it will show the name of the 3di. e.g. Eindo09.3di

Install the PFF Editor and point it to your JO Game Folder,then expansion/ic/ look for ic.pff
On the bottom left is Filter with a drop down tab, select 3DI
Go down the list till you see Eindo09.3di, right click extract to desktop.

Now you have your charactor 3di you will need a texture finder to see which skins are associated with that 3di.

AInF_C09.tga
A_pat4.tga
uak74.tga
uscope.tga
A_HairB.tga
AIndFHd2.tga
a_beret.tga
A_pat.tga

These are all the skins associated with that 3di
They will most likely be in .DDS format not .TGA so your might want to change them to .tga with the dds converter
Edit them in Photoshop.
Drop them into your JO Game Folder
Create a shortcut on your desktop, right click it go to Properties. Now change the Target line so you have a space then /d like below

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NovaLogic\Joint Operations Typhoon Rising\Jointops.exe" /d
Click Apply and close.

Now your new skins will show up in game.
When your finished everything and ready to pack it i will explain how to do it (if i can remember lol)

The C4 thing sounds cool but i have no idea on that one

Assets? what sort of assets are you talking about, some are easy some not so much.

ok for assets 1 is in the game already as a static object would like to make a drivable one and the huey found here

ok installed it, it's a different copy to what we have on this site.
Yep, go to the /ICE.pff and extract the 3di.

I did forget to mention the .DDS files need to be decompressed before you can convert them.
Use the BFC1 Extractor to decompress them.

Total IC seems to be a mix of IC4/ICE, i need to look into it further so i can add the mod to the site

I'm not sure of the max limit, but try not to go over 13,000 poly's

This isn't much to work with, if you go over the limit say 20,000 it will spit out an error when exporting to 3di.

okay cool I have a landing craft at 8-9k now just need to add collision boxes and to get the ramp to go up and down and add 2 weapon systems and get it to move

I extracted the 3di's u mentioned on TS
I have all the skins and models, i got a few to work (add details to the ITEMS.def) but still buggy.
Some sounds don't work as i have to add them to the SNDPROF.def and GAME.lwf

As i said give a few days and we will have this bit sorted then i will have a go at the Landing Craft.

Ok, we have a problem now.

The Items.def is at it's limit, i can't add anymore to it without getting a System Dump which means you have to delete some items to import new ones. Doing so might cause problems if the item is used in a map already.

Your at the crossroads with the mod. It is at it's limit so you have to sacrifice something to add something
